Tansi Totemtic, Niwakomakantic, (Greetings dear friends and Art Now relatives)!
As the Indigenous Advisor for SaskGalleries, I am proud to begin my message with a Land Acknowledgment on behalf of the Art Now Fine Fair for 2024.
Since the completion of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 2015, and their release of 94 Calls to Action, Land Acknowledgements have become very common across our country. Certainly, (from my perspective), as more and more Canadians become educated about our country’s history, Canadians are learning “truths” and moving towards reconciliation.
As part of this, SaskGalleries acknowledges the lands we now live and work on belonged to the Indigenous Peoples of Canada. However, through Treaty, Canada belongs to all of us! This is why it is important to acknowledge the Treaty Territory we live in as Saskatchewan is covered by Treaties 2,4,5,6,8 and 10.
We acknowledge the Nehiyawak (Plains Cree), Nehithawak (Woodland Cree), Nehinawak (Swampy Cree), Nakawe/Anishinapek (Saulteaux), Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota and the Métis Nation in our province.
SaskGalleries is committed to a future that embraces Reconciliation in our institution, and living in good relations with our Indigenous neighbours, in the spirit and intent as understood, in all the numbered Treaties.
Thank you for attending Art Now 2024!
Respectfully,
Lyndon J Linklater
Anishinabe/Nehiyaw -

I am grateful to all who have made this fair possible, including the staff, board of directors and volunteers of the Saskatchewan Professional Art Galleries Association. Congratulations on producing a show that is both entertaining for the public attending, and beneficial for the galleries and artists represented.
I also applaud SaskGalleries for partnering with the Saskatchewan Craft Council(SCC) this year to present a brand-new arts and crafts experience. Congratulations to the SCC on launching the inaugural Craft Is... Fine Craft Show + Sale.
In addition, I would like to recognize SaskGalleries and SCC for all you do year-round to support and promote Saskatchewan’s professional art galleries, artists and artisans. We are fortunate to have so many talented, creative individuals working in our province.
To those in attendance, I share your appreciation of art. I hope you thoroughly enjoy yourself and will consider visiting one of the participating galleries soon.
To all the contributors to this year’s exhibitions, artist talks, demonstrations and other activities, please accept my best wishes for a very successful fair.
Russ Mirasty
Lieutenant Governor Province of Saskatchewan -
Welcome to Saskatoon, in the heart of Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis Nation, for the 9th edition of the Art Now Fine Art Fair.
Art provides an opportunity for us to come together and celebrate our diversity. It challenges, engages, and inspires us to see the world in new ways. Supporting a strong arts community, in Saskatoon and across the province, enriches all of our lives.
This year’s festival features two shows with the inaugural Craft Is. . . Fine Craft Show & Sale along with the traditional Art Now Fine Art Fair. These four days highlight the talent across the province with artist talks, family programming, exhibitors and more.
I hope you are able to take in some of our attractions during your stay here, such as the beautiful Meewasin river valley, the Remai Modern Art Gallery, Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a show at one of our many theatres and arts venues, and some shopping at our unique stores and shopping districts.
Thank you to the organizers and volunteers for putting this fair
together and promoting Saskatchewan’s fine art industry.Best wishes for a successful event!
Charlie Clark
Mayor of Saskatoon -
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to thank you for joining us during this 9th edition of the Art Now Fine Art Fair. We are always very excited to present the most diverse and talented group of artists and artisans that represent Saskatchewan and the rest of our Canadian province’s art scene. This year, together with Saskatchewan Craft Council’s Craft Is… Fine Craft Show and Sale, we have even more to offer.
This year’s Art Now brings together eleven galleries that represent over 300 artists and artisans. Be sure to visit our emerging artists’ section, stART, to see who is new to the Saskatchewan art scene and the unique talent that they bring. We hope you enjoy the show and find a piece to take home and enjoy every day.
SaskGalleries would like to thank our participating artists, Creative Saskatchewan and our many generous partners, supporters and sponsors for this year’s event. Creative Saskatchewan’s ongoing support allows us to ‘bring the world to Saskatchewan’ and we celebrate the visual arts created within our province through this annual event. In addition to their support for visual arts and fine craft, Creative Saskatchewan provides ongoing support throughout our province for screen-based media, book publishing, live performing arts and digital media.
SaskGalleries, the Art Now Fine Art Fair, and exhibiting galleries are located on lands covered by Treaties 4 and 6, the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Salteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

On behalf of the Art Now Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 9th annual Art Now Fine Art Fair. We are thrilled to bring together eleven of Saskatchewan’s commercial art galleries in partnership with the Saskatchewan Craft Council and Creative Saskatchewan for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of creativity, culture, and community.
Art Now has always been more than just an exhibition; it is a vibrant gathering that makes fine art accessible to a broader audience, offering an opportunity for both seasoned collectors and those new to the art world to engage with an extraordinary variety of works by artists across Saskatchewan and Western Canada.
This year, we are proud to continue our mission of connecting artists with art lovers, and we hope that you will find inspiration and joy in the art on display. Whether you are here to discover new artists, deepen your appreciation for Saskatchewan’s cultural heritage, or simply to enjoy the atmosphere of creativity, Art Now is an event that welcomes everyone.
As a Committee Member, I have had the privilege of working with an incredible team dedicated to ensuring that Art Now remains a cornerstone of our cultural landscape. Saskatoon’s original indie band, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra (SSO), has been fulfilling its mission to share the joy, hope, and community of making music since its inception in 1931. As the beating heart of Saskatoon’s cultural scene, the SSO is passionate about great music, connecting with music lovers, and bringing everyone closer to the magic of sound. For decades, the SSO has been sharing the timeless beauty of music from the heart of the prairies. Since the launch of ConcertStream.tv, the SSO’s streaming platform, your SSO is heard around the world.
In 2015, the SSO launched the Painted Violins project where artists transformed unplayable violins into breathtaking works of visual art. This initiative captured the imagination of art and music lovers alike and was a resounding success.
For the SSO’s 95th season, in 2025-2026, the SSO will launch a new chapter in the Painted Violin Project. Stay tuned as this creative journey continues, blending the worlds of music and art in ways that inspire and uplift.
